Cyclone!!!!!

Cyclone sometimes causes in New Zealand!!!! It's a tropical depression which causes in the Indian Ocean and in the South Pacific. "Cyclone" indicates "depression" or "storm" in English. In New Zealand, sometimes it is called a "tropical cyclone" On the other hand, there is a typhoon in Japan like that. Their characteristic is almost the same. If a typhoon goes to the west over 100 degrees of east longitude (Tokei 100° in Japanese), it becomes a cyclone!!! But directions of whirlpool (Uzumaki in Japanese) are opposite. A cyclone in the southern hemisphere is clockwise(Tokei mawari in Japanese), while a typhoon in the nothern hemisphere is anti-clockwise.

A cyclone is given a name such as Ken, Chris or Mike like hurricane in America.

Why Cyclones Are Named?

It's interesting and I think Japanese typoons should be also given names like that.

If the latest cyclone will occur, you can know the movement of it here!

★How to make a cyclone★

1. A steam is made on the hot southern ocean by the strong sunlight.

2. The humid hot air rises high in the sky, and the ascending current(Josho kiryu in Japanese) is made and a cloud appears.

3. A wind gathers from around as swirling, and a cyclone is made and moves as spining.

Climate of NZ★

New Zealand is blessed with warm climate without terrible heat or cold. Northern area is the Subtropical Zone, and Southern area is the Temperate Zone. The warmest months are December, January, and February. While the coldest months are Jun, July, and August. New Zealand is opposite to Japanese seasons because it locates in the southern hemisphere. I think it is comfortable to live in New Zealand.

But the climate of New Zealand is changeable. Instead of it's summer, it would may be cold suddenly or subtropical low pressure would may come, so when you go hiking or do outdoor activities, you should prepare for sudden change of weather.

The average of highest temperature in summer is from 20 to 30 ℃, and in winter it is from10 to15℃. You can check out a weather forecast of New Zealand here.

Elephant Festival from Thailand

In Thailand, there is a famous festival of elephants! It is held on the middle of November in Surin prefecture from 1999. Surin is located in the east of Thailand. It takes about 4 hours from the capital city Bangkok by a car.
In this festival, about 280 elephants gathered and entertained people. They play soccer or basketball. Maybe if you watch that show, you will be surprised!
In Thailand, Elephants are very holy animal and considered as not pets, but members of the family. They are so intelligent as they can draw their own pictures. If you go to Ayutthaya, you can ride an elephant! Please try it!
